The news is out about my new book deal with The Broken Binding. You can read it The Bookseller, but below is the full press release from the website.
The Broken Binding Publishing has acquired Stephen Aryan’s Silver-Tongued Devils and an untitled second book in a two-book deal.
Publishing director Marcus Gipps acquired world English language rights from Juliet Mushens at Mushens Entertainment. Audio rights were acquired by Katie Arlett at Audible from Juliet Mushens at Mushens Entertainment. The first book will be published in March 2027.
Silver-Tongued Devils is a standalone adventure about a group of skilled mercenaries called Winter, set in an epic fantasy world. The description goes on: “They have stolen ancient treasures, toppled tyrants and slain monsters from legend. If there’s a job and it pays well, they’ll get it done. We are Winter. But when their new job drags them into a town whose population is being controlled by magic, getting the job done might not be as simple as they hoped.”
Stephen Aryan is the author of two trilogies, the Age of Darkness, and the Age of Dread (Orbit), plus a prequel novella. He has also written the Quest for Heroes duology, The Coward and The Warrior, published by Angry Robot Books. His latest series, The Nightingale and the Falcon, is a Persian-inspired historical fantasy trilogy.
Aryan said: “I’m really excited to be working with The Broken Binding on Silver-Tongued Devils. They have fantastic attention to detail and work with the best artists. I can’t wait to see what they come up with for this new book!”
Gipps said: “I’ve known Stephen Aryan as a friend and an excellent author for years, and am delighted to be finally working with him. This book is fast, funny and full of fascinating ideas. TBB are delighted to have him on board!”
I’m going to be writing stories in this world about Winter, and other characters, for quite a while, so I’ve had a world map created and it will be printed in the first book. I’m currently in the early stages of writing the second book for The Broken Binding (and I even have a working title).
I would recommend keeping a close eye on The Broken Binding, and follow both their main account but also the Broken Binding Publishing account on Instagram.
